Muscatine Plant #1

Muscatine Plant #1 is a 310.5 MW hybrid power plant located in Muscatine County, Iowa. The plant, which began operating in 1958, is owned and operated by the Board of Water Electric & Communications. It utilizes both conventional steam coal and natural gas fired combustion turbine technologies. The plant consists of four generators and its primary fuel source is subbituminous coal (SUB). Muscatine Plant #1 operates within the Midcontinent Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. (MISO) balancing authority and the MRO NERC region.
